Jaiswal and Gill Lead India's Strong Start vs England

This is the most runs scored by India on the first day of a Test match in England, surpassing 338/7 in Edgbaston in 2022.

The openers, rock-solid after being asked to bat first. Rahul and Jaiswal made a good start with a parntership of 91 the biggest partnership for any opener in test since 2014 in Leeds,
However Rahul missed his half century just by 8 runs. Yashasvi 101(159) [4s-16 6s-1] hit one more century against England then Stokes bowled him out just after the century.
A commanding century from Jaiswal and perhaps most importantly, a composed hundred from Shubman Gill 127(175) [4s-16 6s-1] on captaincy debut.
Sai sudarshan made a duck while batting first time for India in test. While pant have some cracking shots all over the grounds and playing with 65(102) [4s-6 6s-2] run.


Stokes himself bowled his heart out, picking up the wickets of Sudharsan and Jaiswal.
Carse picked up Rahul in the first session while the wickets column remained barren for the rest.
As we head toward stumps on Day 1, India finds itself in a strong position thanks to superb knocks by Jaiswal, Gill and Pant.
